Product Quality
Is loud + proud clothing GOTS certified?
All loud + proud products meet the requirements of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). This certification stands for controlled organic fibers as well as high ecological and social standards along the entire production chain.
What are the advantages of GOTS-certified children's clothing?
GOTS-certified children's clothing meets strict ecological and social standards throughout the entire production chain. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is one of the most important global certifications for textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. Especially for babies and children, many parents appreciate the combination of skin-friendly materials, careful manufacturing, and traceable origin.
How do you recognize GOTS-certified clothing?
You can identify GOTS-certified clothing by the GOTS seal (Global Organic Textile Standard). When purchasing, look for the official GOTS logo and the certification number on the product or label. This is the only way to ensure that the clothing has been manufactured according to recognized ecological and social criteria.
What materials does loud + proud use?
Depending on the product, organic cotton and other high-quality natural fibers such as merino wool from organic livestock or linen are used. All materials used are carefully selected to meet the highest standards of quality, skin-friendliness, and sustainability.
Why is organic cotton particularly suitable for children?
Organic cotton is soft, breathable, and skin-friendly. Organic cotton is grown without the use of many conventional pesticides and chemical fertilizers, resulting in skin-friendly textiles that are particularly suitable for babies and children.
Where is loud + proud clothing made?
Production takes place in Portugal, Hungary, and Turkey. This allows for short transport routes, high quality standards, and close collaboration with production partners.
Care
How do I wash organic cotton correctly?
Organic cotton clothing can be easily cleaned in a washing machine. Always follow the care instructions on the label. Use a mild detergent if possible and avoid bleach or unnecessary fabric softeners to protect the fibers and colors. Turn printed or colored garments inside out before washing.
Since loud + proud clothing is made from natural materials and deliberately avoids admixtures of synthetic fibers or elastane, proper care is particularly important. Natural fibers do not have the same resilience as synthetic fibers.
We therefore recommend gently pulling the garments back into shape while still damp immediately after washing. This way, shirts, trousers, bodysuits, and other favorite items retain their optimal fit and stay beautiful for a long time.
With proper care, high-quality organic children's clothing remains durable, comfortable, and can often be worn or passed on for many years.
How do I care for my wool products properly?
Wool products generally require little care. Since wool naturally has self-cleaning properties, it is often sufficient to air out the garment regularly. This keeps the fibers beautiful for a long time and laundry can be kept to a minimum.
If cleaning is still necessary, we recommend hand washing or a wool wash cycle with cold water. Use only a special wool detergent without enzymes to protect the delicate natural fibers.
Important: Wool should never be spun, rubbed, brushed, scrubbed, or wrung out, as this can cause the fibers to felt. In the wool wash program, the laundry is only gently moved in the water.
When hand washing, you should wash the garment only in cold or lukewarm water and rinse it with clear water of the same temperature after washing. This prevents the wool from shrinking. Gently squeeze out excess water and reshape the product while it is still damp.
To dry, lay the wool product flat on a terry towel in a well-ventilated, shaded place. Please avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or the dryer, as heat can damage the wool fibers.
What is pilling?
Pilling refers to the formation of small balls or bobbles on the surface of textiles. These arise due to friction, for example, when wearing, washing, or drying. Natural fibers and high-quality knitwear are particularly susceptible.
Pilling is not a defect in quality, but rather a natural characteristic of many textiles. The small balls form when loose fibers intertwine and become attached to the fabric surface.
Pilling can be reduced with proper care. Existing bobbles can be carefully removed with a lint shaver or by hand. The function, quality, and durability of the garment are not affected by pilling.
How can I remove pilling?
The bobbles can be easily removed with a lint shaver, a special pilling comb, or carefully by hand. This quickly makes the garment look neat again.
To minimize pilling, we recommend washing clothes inside out, choosing a gentle wash cycle, and avoiding strong friction – for example, from rough surfaces, vigorous spinning, or full washing drums.
How to keep children's clothes looking good for longer?
With the right care, children's clothing stays soft, shapely, and colorful for a long time. Pay attention to the care instructions on the label and wash the clothes at the recommended temperatures whenever possible. A gentle wash cycle and the use of a mild detergent help protect the fibers.
Air-drying instead of using a dryer can also help extend the life of the clothing. High-quality children's clothing thus stays beautiful longer and can often even be passed on to siblings or friends.
